Do you know an administrator or teacher who deserves to be recognized for their work in the alternative setting?
The 2025 NAEA Excellence in Alternative Education Award will recognize the exemplary service of an administrator or teacher dedicated to youth in alternative/non-traditional education.
This individual represents the NAEA's mission of engaging and empowering the lives of youth in alternative education and represents the core values of the NAEA.
The recipient of this award is an advocate for students in alternative/non-traditional schools. This leader believes that students in alternative settings have the same aptitudes and abilities as students in traditional settings. They believe in equity-focused education where all students have access to the same resources and educational rigor and support diversity in gender, age, sex, race, class, religion, ethnicity, ability, language, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Eligibility to receive award:
*Be a leader/educator dedicated to exemplary service of youth in alternative education
*Have at least 2 years of experience leading in an alternative education
*Be a current member of NAEA
